Disney Princesses – Cinderella

Hey everyone! I hope you had a good weekend! Sorry for not posting on Monday, but I was busy this weekend and I didn’t have a chance to do my nails. I had my last undergraduate class ever last night! It’s crazy to think that in a week and a half, I’ll be graduated from college, the past four years went by so fast! It’s definitely bittersweet haha. I have one final left until I’m completely done, and of course it’s during the last possible final time slot (8:30pm on Thursday May 15). But other than that I’m finished with all my classes for the semester!

Today’s nails are the start of a new challenge that I made up (someone else has probably done it before, but I came up with the idea for mine by myself haha). I’m going to do nails inspired by each of the 11 official Disney Princesses (Jasmine, Ariel, Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, Merida, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Aurora, Mulan, and Snow White – in no particular order). I started with Cinderella and did a recreation of a previous nail design I’ve done (and look back on and wonder what I was thinking haha). I started with a coat of Orly Nail Defense. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – White on White. Once that had dried, I cut hole reinforcers in half and placed one half on each side of the base of my nail (this will make sense when you look at the picture haha). I then applied a coat of China Glaze – For Audrey and then three quick coats of Sinful Colors – Cinderella (I didn’t let them dry in between coats because I wanted to be able to remove the reinforcers without the polish stringing along with it). I then gave that lots of time to dry (like hours) and applied a coat of Seche Vite – Dry Fast top coat. You can’t really see the shimmer in Cinderella (probably because For Audrey was a little bit too dark as a base color, but it’s there haha). And excuse the awkward looking logo, I cut my finger on Sunday at the animal shelter and it looks gross, so there’ll be a box over it for a while. Thanks for reading!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: W is for Wet n Wild Water Marble

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty good, I decorated my cap for graduation (I’ll post pictures when it gets closer to graduation, I’m not sure if I’m completely done yet haha), went to a volunteer appreciation event on Sunday, did laundry, and did homework (I know, I know, I live such an exciting life haha). I have my internship today and then a class in the evening.

Today’s nails are W is for Wet n Wild Water Marble. I don’t really like how these turned out, but I didn’t/don’t feel like re-doing them, so here they are haha. I started with a coat of Orly – Nail Defense as my base coat. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – White on White. The colors I used for the water marble were Wet n Wild – Candy-licious, Wet n Wild – Lavender Crème, and Wet n Wild – Fergalicious (all repeated twice). I then applied a coat of Seche Vite – Dry Fast top coat. Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: N is for Nautical Nails

Hey everyone! I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was pretty good, I was dog/house-sitting all day Saturday and most of the day on Sunday, so that was fun. I was watching a Golden Retriever named Buster (there’s a picture of him on my Instagram). Other than that, my weekend was pretty uneventful. I did studying and laundry on Sunday when I got back home and then I did my nails.

Today’s nails are N is for Nautical Nails. I started with a coat of Orly Nail Defense Strengthening Protein Treatment for a basecoat on all my nails. To create the stripes, I first applied two coats of China Glaze – White on White, I then applied four pieces of striping tape on each of my nails that I was creating stripes on, and then I applied a coat of OPI – I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw on top of the striping tape and then immediately removed the striping tape (sidenote: I really like the color I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw, but it is a really bad stainer – as you can kind of see around my cuticles). For my accent anchor nail, I applied two coats of “A” Inspired Nail Polish – Cardinal, and then used the anchor image on the Bundle Monster plate BM08 and China Glaze – White on White to create the anchor. I then applied a coat of Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protector as a top coat. Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: K is for Kitchen Sink Mani

Hey everyone! I’m writing this really tired so if there are any typos I apologize haha. I had a pretty boring end of last week and weekend. I did go to an event for my internship on Saturday, not a lot of people signed up to be mentors, but I talked to some people about the program and I was able to get in hours for my internship class (I have to have 135 internship hours by May 7th, I’m on track to get them all done though 🙂 ). This week so far, I’ve had my two classes and my internship on Monday and yesterday. I’m planning on walking dogs at the Humane Society this morning (if I can get myself up haha) and then this afternoon I have something to do with my internship and I have meetings for two of my honor societies.

Today’s nails are K is for Kitchen Sink Mani (or skittles mani, but I needed a K haha). Today’s nails are a kitchen sink mani (as in, everything but the kitchen sink haha). For all my nails I first applied one coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy. For my thumb I did a gradient with China Glaze – For Audrey and Sally Hansen Hard as Nail Xtreme Wear – Coral Reef (I didn’t get a picture of my thumbs, but you’re not missing much – my gradients aren’t that good haha). For my pointer finger I did leopard print nails with  two coats of For Audrey as my base color and Coral Reef and China Glaze – Flying Dragon for the spots. For my middle finger I applied two coats of Coral Reef and then used For Audrey and a dotting tool for the dots. For my ring finger I applied two coats of Flying Dragon as my base color and then For Audrey, China Glaze – White on White, and Coral Reef to make a cloud mani. For my pinky I did a saran wrap mani with Coral Reef as the base color and For Audrey on top. I applied a coat of INM – Out the Door top coat to all of my nails. Thanks for reading, I’ll be back on Friday with L nails! Have a great week!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: C is for Cow Print

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great week! Mine was pretty good; my mom, dad, sister, and I went and visited my cousin and her husband on Wednesday and on Thursday I just hung out at home (well, I had a dentist appointment, but that didn’t take too much time). I don’t have any plans for today either, but tomorrow I’m going shopping for some new clothes (which should be interesting because I don’t really like to shop haha).

Today’s letter for the ABC Nail Challenge is C…is for cow print. I started off with a coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy as a base coat. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – White on White as the base color. For the black spots I used Wet n Wild – Black Crème and a dotting tool. I finished it with a coat of INM – Out the Door top coat (although I didn’t wait long enough for the spots to dry and I smeared the dots). Thanks for reading! I’ll be back on Monday with D nails! Have a great weekend! 🙂

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: A is for Arizona

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! Mine was okay, we took down the Christmas trees (all 4 of them!) and other the Christmas decorations inside the house on Sunday, now we just have to take down the decorations and lights outside.

As 2013 comes to an end, I want to thank everyone for reading and following my blog! It really means a lot to me that people actually look at my nails 🙂 Here’s a video I made with the Flipagram app with all my nails from this year; from January 1st to December 27th. Thanks again for all your support!

To start off 2014, I’m going to do another alphabet nail art challenge. I did one at the beginning of this year, so I thought I would start this year with another one. Last year I didn’t go in alphabetical order, but this year I think I’ll try to. Even though it’s not 2014 yet, my first post in the ABC Nail Challenge 2014 will be today. And today’s letter is…A is for Arizona! I go to school at the University of Arizona and for Christmas my parents got me an “A” Inspired Nail Polish set (it came with a red and a blue nail polish – my school colors – and block A nail stickers), so I’m dedicating the first post of this challenge to my school. Plus the Wildcat football team is playing in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl tomorrow and I wanted to show support for them (Bear Down! Go Cats!). For these nails I started with a coat of OPI – Matte Nail Envy. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – White on White to all of my nails. Then I applied two coats of “A” inspired – Cardinal and Navy Blue (no official names were given to the polishes on the bottles or packages, so I’m naming them after the school colors) to the tips of my nails (alternating colors for each finger). I then applied block A nail stickers to each of my nails (I had tried putting them over the Cardinal and Navy, but they were really hard to see). I finished it up with a coat of INM – Out the Door Top Coat. I don’t really like how they turned out (I freehanded the tips and they’re not even, the stickers don’t lay completely flat, they didn’t photograph well [it’s really blue, not black], and my nails are shaped weird because they keep breaking), but it was late at night when I did them, so they’ll have to do I guess haha. Thank you so much for reading! Have a fun (and safe) New Year’s Eve! I’ll be back on Wednesday with letter B nails!
