China Glaze – Thistle Do Nicely

Hey everyone! Long time no post (opps). I didn’t mean to stop posting, but I got a dog and spending time with her has cut into my time for nails/blogging. She’s a 4 year old Chihuahua I named Sophie (her name was Echo, but I didn’t think that fit her). I got her off Craigslist (we met in a public place) on the 4th of July. She’s adjusting pretty well – when I first got her she had really bad separation anxiety (she still has it to an extent, but is getting better) and she wouldn’t eat much for almost a week (but then I figured out that she didn’t like the bowl her food was in). It’s really nice having a living thing to come home to after work 🙂 Here’s some pictures of her:

Today’s nails are a swatch of China Glaze – Thistle Do Nicely. I did these a while ago, but I’m just getting around to posting them because life got in the way haha. I started with a coat of Orly – Nail Defense. I then applied three coats of China Glaze – Thistle Do Nicely. I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite – Dry Fast top coat. That’s it for me today, thanks for reading! 🙂 Have a great day!

China Glaze – Grass is Lime Greener

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week so far. Mine is going well, today is my Friday (yay!). My apartment is feeling like home and I love living alone – the only messes in the apartment are mine and I have no one to blame but myself haha. Nothing else has really changed too much since my last post, I’m still trying to ease back into posting somewhat regularly. For now I haven’t really made time for nail art, but I’m slowly making time to actually paint my nails.

Today’s nails are a swatch of China Glaze – Grass is Lime Greener. I started with a coat of Orly – Nail Defense. I then applied three coats of China Glaze – Grass is Lime Greener. I then applied a coat of Seche Vite – Dry Fast top coat. Thanks for reading, have a great rest of your week and weekend (and a fun and safe 4th of July if you celebrate!).

Wet n Wild – Black Crème

Hey everyone! I hope you had a good week last week and start of this week. I finished both my papers and homework that I had last week (yay!). Almost done with the semester! I had a stressful/exciting weekend last weekend (more to come on that in the future!). I don’t have anything exciting to share from last week (my papers completely dominated my week haha).

So I had an idea for a theme and I’ll start that sometime soon-ish haha, but I just wanted to get some nails done, so I have a quick swatch of Wet n Wild – Black Crème. I applied a coat of Orly – Nail Defense, then three coats of Wet n Wild – Black Crème (I could have used two coats, but I filed my nails after the second coat and had to add a third coat), topped with a coat of Seche Vite – Dry Fast top coat. I’ve rounded my nails because they kept breaking when they were square (I have to work on the shape a bit). Thanks for reading, have a great day!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: U is for Untried (Julep – Mariska)

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: U is for Untried (Julep – Mariska)

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and start of your week! My weekend was pretty good. On Saturday I wanted to go to the animal shelter, but I didn’t want to be tired for the picnic/baseball game I was going to with my internship, so I ended up going to the shelter on Sunday instead. After all the dogs had been out at least once, I sat with four eight week old chihuahua puppies (they were sooo tiny!), if I had my own place and could have a dog (and money and time for a dog haha), I totally would have adopted one haha. Monday and yesterday I went to my internship and then I went to my classes. If I can wake up in the morning, I’ll be going to to the shelter and walking dogs today.

Today’s letter is U is for Untried. I had a hard time figuring out something I could actually do with/to my nails and I figured untried was a good idea (and a good way to get another swatch on my Polish Stash page). I got Julep – Mariska on Monday, so that’s the color I went with. I started with a coat of Orly – Nail Defense Strengthening Protein Treatment as a base coat. I then applied two coats of Julep – Mariska (there is still some slight Visible Nail Line, but I think with three coats there would be none). Julep describes Mariska as a “juicy tangerine shimmer.” For my top coat I used one coat of Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat. The first picture is taken how I normally take my pictures and the second picture is taken with flash (for color accuracy). Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
