ABC Nail Challenge 2014: G is for Galaxy

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: G is for Galaxy

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week so far! Mine’s been pretty good, I’ve started my internship (yay!) and I’m done with my in-person classes for the week (now I just have to finish my online assignments by Sunday night). I still need a few more hours to finish my internship hours for the week though. And I think I’ll try to go to the Humane Society again this week, I miss my dogs already haha.

Today’s nails are G is for Galaxy nails. I’ve never tried galaxy nails before, but I really like the way that these turned out, I’ll probably be doing some more in the future. I got my inspiration for these nails from this picture.

I used OPI – Matte Nail Envy as a base coat and Wet n Wild – Black Crème as my base color. The colors I used to sponge the background are Pure Ice – Beware, Pure Ice – Cheatin, China Glaze – Frostbite, Pure Ice – Celestial, China Glaze – Flying Dragon, Sally Hansen – Lively Lilac; with China Glaze – White on White and a dotting tool used to create the stars. For my top coat, I used INM – Out the Door top coat. Thanks so much for reading! I’ll be back on Friday with H nails! Enjoy the rest of your week! 🙂

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: F is for Fergalicious

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: F is for Fergalicious

Hey everyone! Long time no blog, oops haha. I didn’t intend to disappear for three weeks, but time kind of got away from me haha. The rest of my winter break was pretty uneventful, but my cousin had her baby (she’s super cute!) we went to see her a couple days before I had to head back to Tucson. I came back to Tucson on the 19th and my first class was on the 21st (even though school started on the 15th – oh the joys of having physical classes for 2.5 hours on Monday and Tuesday and two online classes haha). Last week I went to classes, did school work, and got back into the swing of things again. Yesterday I walked dogs at the Humane Society for a couple of hours and then came home and did laundry and more homework. I start my internship today and another week of school.

Today’s letter is F, brought to you by Fergalicious. I didn’t know what to do for F, so I went simple like I did for D is for Dance Baby (although going simple allows me to update my swatches on my polish stash page). For these nails I used a coat of OPI – Matte Nail Envy and three coats of Wet n Wild – Fergalicious (from the Fergalicious collection). I then applied a coat of INM – Out the Door top coat. I’ll be back on Wednesday (for real this time) with G nails! Thanks for reading, have a great week! 🙂

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: E is for Eggs

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: E is for Eggs

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’ve had a good week so far. Mine has been ok, on Monday I watched the FSU/Auburn game (it was fun to watch, even if Auburn lost) and yesterday I just hung out around the house (seems to be all I’ve done this winter break, but it’s been nice and relaxing). I don’t have anything planned for today or tomorrow either (I’m kind of looking forward to going back to school now; I want to see my friends and have something to do during the day). School starts on the 15th, but I only have class on Mondays and Wednesday so I’ll be back in Tucson on the 19th. I’m excited to start my last semester of my undergraduate career, but at the same time I’m nervous to start my life after college. But I’m sure everything will work out in the end.

Today’s letter is E…is for Eggs. I didn’t know what to do for today’s nails, but  I eventually came to the idea of eggs (I don’t really know how because I don’t really like eggs that much haha). I started with a coat of OPI – Matte Nail Envy, then I applied two coats of China Glaze – Exotic Encounters (oh hey! another E haha). I then used a dotting tool and white acrylic paint to make the egg white and a dotting tool and yellow acrylic paint to make the yolk. I then applied two coats of INM – Out the Door top coat (I used two coats because the acrylic paint was really thick). Thanks for reading, I’ll be back on Friday with F nails. Have a great day and a great rest of your week!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: D is for Dance Baby

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was good. On Saturday, I went shopping and found a couple pairs of dress pants and a bunch of nice shirts/sweaters, I still want to find a pair of nice jeans, but they didn’t have any tall jeans in my size (but I’ll keep trying). On Sunday I did laundry and hung out at home. Today is the college football national championship – Auburn vs. FSU – and my family and I will be watching it at home (War Eagle! – my mom went to Auburn). Hopefully Auburn will win!

Today’s letter for the ABC Nail Challenge is D…is for Dance Baby. I started off with a coat of OPI – Matte Nail Envy. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – Dance Baby. I then applied a coat of INM – Out the Door top coat. Thanks for reading, I’ll be back on Wednesday with E nails! Have a great day!

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: C is for Cow Print

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great week! Mine was pretty good; my mom, dad, sister, and I went and visited my cousin and her husband on Wednesday and on Thursday I just hung out at home (well, I had a dentist appointment, but that didn’t take too much time). I don’t have any plans for today either, but tomorrow I’m going shopping for some new clothes (which should be interesting because I don’t really like to shop haha).

Today’s letter for the ABC Nail Challenge is C…is for cow print. I started off with a coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy as a base coat. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – White on White as the base color. For the black spots I used Wet n Wild – Black Crème and a dotting tool. I finished it with a coat of INM – Out the Door top coat (although I didn’t wait long enough for the spots to dry and I smeared the dots). Thanks for reading! I’ll be back on Monday with D nails! Have a great weekend! 🙂

ABC Nail Challenge 2014: B is for Butterfly

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great (and safe) New Year’s Eve! I hope that 2014 will be a great year for everyone; 2013 was great, and I’m hoping that 2014 is even better! 🙂 This year I’ll be finishing my last semester of college, graduating from college (something that’s kind of scary to think about; I’ll have to be a “real” adult), hopefully finding a job, and other things that will make 2014 great. I hope you all have a great year as well!

Today’s letter is B for Butterfly. I used this tutorial created by Jenna of Polish Pals. I used OPI – Matte Nail Envy as my base coat. For the orange base, I used two coats of Zoya – Arizona. The curves and lines were created with a nail art brush and black acrylic paint and the white dots are white acrylic paint and a dotting tool. The larger black portion of the butterfly wing is Wet n Wild – Black Crème. For the top coat, I used one coat of INM – Out the Door top coat. Thanks for reading, I’ll be back on Friday with C. Have a great day and a great 2014!
