January Polishes

Hello 🙂 I just thought I would share the nail polishes I bought in January, even though I’ve already used all of them. So here it goes:

  • Sinful Colors Professional Basecoat
  • Rimmel London 60 Seconds Mintlicious
  • Rimmel London 60 Seconds Golden Hour
  • Wet n Wild Mega Last Candy-licious
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Black Out
  • Wet n Wild Wild Shine Clear Nail Protectant (2)

I also purchased a “melmer” to store my polishes and nail supplies in. I bought grip stuff for the drawers (white with pink polka dots) and black and white (with a floral-like design) contact paper to decorate the outside of my melmer. So far, I really like it, it makes it way easier to keep track of my stuff and I actually can see my desk (before, all of  my nail polish and nail supplies were on top of my desk).

N is for Night

Hello 🙂 My nails are super short still (obviously it’s only been 2 days) which makes it super hard to shape them without also filing my skin, so please bear with me until the grow out 🙂 Also, I’m sorry about the poor quality of this picture, but for some reason my camera wouldn’t capture my nails properly (sorry!).

For these nails I started with a coat of Sinful Colors base coat. I then applied two coats of Pure Ice – Magnetic Attraction High Voltage (minus the magnetic part). I then applied two coats of Pure Ice – Strapless. Once that was dry I applied two coats of Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant. I then used Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle – White Tip and Shany Cosmetics SH08 to stamp the moon and stars. I then applied a coat of Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant to finish it off. That’s it from me, again I apologize for the poor picture quality and the unevenness of my nails.

I used this tutorial by Kayla Shevonne to create the curved watermark in Gimp. Her instructions are super clear to follow her tutorial has step by step pictures. (Not that I really think my pictures are going to get stolen or anything, I just like it better :))

Q is for Question Mark?

Hello 🙂 Today in my A to Z nails “challenge” I decided to go with the letter Q. I wasn’t sure what to do so I did question mark. By question mark I don’t mean that I actually put question marks on my nails, I just mean that I didn’t know what to call them haha, so I went with question mark. I started with a coat of Sinful Colors base coat. I let that dry and then applied two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hard as Nails – Black Out. I then applied two coats of Ulta Mini Glitterati – Glitter on the Rocks (a red glitter). I then used one coat of Ulta Mini Glitterati – New Year New Me (a blue/teal glitter). I then used a coat of Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant. You may notice that my nails are super short 😦 For some reason, my nails have been brittle lately and are randomly breaking and splitting, so I cut them really short in the hopes that they will grow back and behave themselves haha. Anyway, I’ve included a normal picture and a blurry picture so you can see what they look like in real life and what the glitter looks like.

O is for Orange

Hello 🙂 Today I have simple nails, O for Orange. I recently bought an orange-gold polish and wanted to use this as an opportunity to use it. I started with a coat of Sinful Colors base coat. I then used two coats of Rimmel London 60 Seconds – Golden Hour (I could have used just one coat, but there was a slight sheer aspect to the polish). I topped that with two coats of Ulta Mini Glitterati – Tinseltown for a glittery look. I finished with a coat of Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant. That’s it for today, enjoy your weekend!

H is for Half Moon

Hello 🙂 So far, I’ve been doing a good job of not losing interest/motivation since I’ve started my A to Z Nails, which is good, because it also means I’m posting regularly again. For today’s nails, I drew “inspiration” from the letter H. For H, I decided to go with a Half Moon Mani.

I really like the way that these turned out (minus the random bleeding of black onto the mint polish, but I tried my best, the hole reinforcers just didn’t cooperate), but the light blue and black remind me of an old school diner (not that I’m old enough to remember these haha) and for some reason an old car (but I don’t really know why). But I like half moon designs anyway, so maybe that’s influencing my opinion.

For these nails I started with a coat of Sinful Colors base coat. I then used two coats of Rimmel London 60 Seconds – Mintilicious (which is similar to China Glaze – For Audrey, but closer to Wet n Wild – I Need A Refresh-Mint), it covers in one coat, but was streaky due to my application so I just added another coat to cover up the streaks. I allowed plenty of time for that to dry before I added the hole reinforcers to the base of my nail (and tried my best to make sure there were no gaps). I did this one hand at a time so I would be able to use my free hand more easily. I then applied Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hard as Nails – Black Out to the top part of my nail (above the reinforcer). Once I had done this to all my fingers on my hand, I removed the reinforcers. I allowed time for this to dry and then did my other hand the same way. I topped it off with a coat of Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant.

K is for Kite

Hello 🙂 Happy Tuesday! I really enjoyed my 3 day weekend (even though I pretty much did nothing all weekend – well, except for clean my bathroom (including the bathtub and I washed the shower curtain) and I got pancakes at 3 in the morning (and was complimented on my CinnaStack Pancakes from a male stripper and got a flyer from the male strippers). But it was nice to just relax (and sleep) without having to worry about doing anything. Anyway, I have more of my A to Z nails today with the letter K for Kite. The main part of the kite stamped ok, but the tail of the kite didn’t transfer well. Anyway, I started with a coat of Sinful Colors base coat, I then used two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri – Blue Streak. I used Shany Cosmetics Stamping Plate SH19 (the kite image) and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear – Coral Reef to stamp with. I topped it with Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant. There are some bubbles on my nails, which I think is a combination of the Blue Streak and Wet n Wild Clear Nail Protectant, but since I change my nails so often, I don’t really care too much. I apologize for the dryness of my hands and the hangnails (it’s really dry in Arizona, but I’m drinking lots of water and trying to remember to moisturize). Anyway, here are my K nails!

X is for X-Ray

Hello 🙂 I’m back again for my A to Z Nails! And the letter of the day is…X! I decided to do x-ray because I could only think of one other word that started with x (xylophone) and I wasn’t sure how to recreate that on my nails. Plus I had a fish bone stamp that I wasn’t sure what to do with. So today’s nails are the x-ray of a fish (although I don’t really know why the x-ray of a fish would be taken). I started with a coat of Sinful Colors base coat. I then used two coats of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear – Black Out. I used the Bundle Monster BM04 stamping plate and Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle – White Tip to create the “x-ray” of the fish. I finished it up with a coat of Wet N Wild Wild Shine -Clear Nail Protectant. That’s it for today, check back for another letter of my A to Z Nails!
